Most streets in the city centre are a car-free zone. Forget about your map for sometime and take your time to walk down narrow alleys covered with paving stones, jump over canals at the roadside and marvel at the various buildings - you can see Fachwerk houses, painted facades and sculptures in different styles. If you are aiming for a romantic experience, you should walk down Konviktstrasse and maybe get some hot chocolate or tea in Café Domino.
