5 things to do in Freiburg on a 1-day trip

Image
Freiburg is a typical town for the southern part of Germany. The mild climate of the sunniest german city  enables a pleasant visit even in late Autumn. 1. Visit the main touristic spot and most important landmark of Freiburg - the Minster The Freiburg Minster is built mostly in a Gothic style, so put your sun glasses on and take a nice look up at the high towers, count the sculptures or go in an enjoy the magnificent color play of the sunlight shining through the glass panels. However, a visit to the Freiburg Minster is not complete without strolling around the market on the Minster Square and eating the famous Lange Rote - a long sausage served in a bun with onions. 2. Explore the hidden beauty of the cute alleys Most streets in the city centre are a car-free zone. Forget about your map for sometime and take your time to walk down narrow alleys covered with paving stones, jump over canals at the roadside and marvel at the various buildings - you can see Fachwerk houses,

Bergamo, Italy

Bergamo is probably most famous as the city with one of Milan's nearest airports. Which is sad, because it has much more to offer than that. On the other hand, it was our flight to "Milan" that brought us here and we are extremely thankful for that! Unprepared, but adventurous, we decided to take the bus from the airport to Bergamo and less than half an hour later we were taking a walk in this beautiful diverse city in Northern Italy. The tour: Admittedly, Città Alta (the Upper City) is the most interesting, most touristic and most beautiful part of Bergamo we could visit. However, I would still recommend you to get off the bus at one of the earlier stations - for example at the main station, and stroll around the streets of the pleasant modern city of Bergamo. Walking towards the funicular (Funicolare Città Alta) you can enjoy the view of the Upper City  towering above the lower one. The ride with the funicular is short, cheap, quick and exciting

One week on Sal, Cabo Verde

Love the beach? The Republic of Cabo Verde is probably not one of the most famous travel destinations, but it is definitely an amazing place worth visiting. Each of the 10 islands has its own unique nature and climate, which makes it impossible to sum up and describe them as one - this means you cannot really tell you know Cabo Verde just by spending a week on the beach in Sal. You will probably need to fly there, so it is useful to know that the only International airports are located on Sal, Boa Vista and São Vicente - logically, those are the most touristic islands too. For more native culture and wild nature you will need to plan a lot of time too - some islands cannot be reached every day and for some you will need a ferry to get there.   My trip happened to be the typical European visit of Sal for the duration of one week, which does not mean it wasn't totally worth it! Ilha do Sal, Cabo Verde Why visit? The weather: the sun shining bright almost every day o
